Boorman Vineyards and Winery 2003 Petit Verdot (BMV 1002)

Winemaker's Notes:  Sourced from Moonridge Vineyards on the Santa Rosa Plateau, this year's vintage of our premier Petit Verdot is scrumptious and surprising. It had such tempting fruit, we decided to do the unexpected, and make our first "stand alone" Petit Verdot. This varietal is typically found in small percentages in many Bordeaux-style blends because of its vibrant lavender hue and exotic fragrance. The wine is enhanced with 5% Merlot and aged for 24 months in French oak to give it complexity, tannin and structure. Inky violet in color, it was coarse filtered to give it polish and brilliance in the glass.... a beautiful wine! Enjoy it paired with spicy meats, heavier cheeses, and dishes with zesty sauces.
