Boorman Vineyards and Winery 2003 Merlot

Winemaker's Notes:  2003, another great year in the vineyard for this Merlot. The fruit again, made it possible for us to produce a big, rich, bold and structured wine. Aged in 30% new oak barrels for 22 months, it promises to surprise even the most discerning palate.The grapes used to produce this wine came from "Moonridge Vineyards", our neighbors on their adjacent property here on the Santa Rosa Plateau. The vineyard is now in its third year of production, and this wine is the result of starting with its exceptional fruit. Small percentages of Cab. Sauvignon, and Cab. Franc were blended in to enhance the balance and profile of the wine. Striving to produce elegant wines is a passion and craft that will never be lost here in Boorman Vineyards. TWOL's Notes: ...As the notes above describe, this is truly a premium Merlot. Much of this varietal is produced in the Temecula Valley, but few valley Merlots stand out with such elegance and boldness, as this one. Boorman Vineyards is located in the hills of the west side of the valley, in the Santa Rosa Plateau. This, as we've said before, is another World Class Red (even collectible) from a rapidly rising local winemaker, Todd Boorman. The nose wafts out of the bottle as soon as you pull the cork,  as in all his reds......  great value! We guarantee it!
