Winemaker's Notes:  This elegant member of the Zinfandel family has the zest of Zin but with slightly more fruit, slightly less spice. Our 2002 Primitivo opens up with a fruit bowl of rasberries, plums, pears, and rhubarb, then finishes with smooth tannins and toasty oak flavors. This wine is big enough to hold up to meals of beef or pasta with spicy red sauce, but also gentle enough to pair nicely with chicken or pork.Silver Medal - California State Fair, LA County Fair, and New World International
