Alex's Red Barn The new kid on the block is Alex’s Red Barn Winery having just opened in September, 2004. This is a boutique winery producing some of their four wines from 40-year-old vines originally planted by the Kaiser Corporation. The wines are Johannisberg Riesling, Sauvugnon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and a Cream Sherry that is produced using the traditional “Solera” method. Alex’s Red Barn hosts a tasting room and outdoor patio area where you can have a delightful conversation with the owners/wine makers Lise and Alex Yakut. This is a hands-on operation and just a side note from this writer, not being a sherry drinker, after tasting this Cream Sherry I am now! Take note, next year they will be introducing a Muscat Canelli. |
