Curry
Vineyards

Born in San Francisco, Charlie Curry began
his love of wine in the 1970’s while running the Kitchens of the Winery
Restaurants on the San Francisco Peninsula. In the 80’s and 90’s he turned
to selling meats and seafood’s to the finer restaurants on the
San Francisco
Peninsula, north to
Napa. This afforded him the
opportunity to visit Northern California’s wine
regions while it expanded in numbers and improved in quality. During this
time he often dreamed of starting his own vineyard and winery. While
visiting his wife’s brother in Temecula, in the mid 90’s, they discovered
Temecula’s growing wine region. In 2000 Charlie and wife
Michele, purchased 16 acres on a hillside overlooking the
Temecula
Valley. They immediately
planted Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and later Cabernet Franc. Last year
they became a bonded licensed Winery and released their ’04 Syrah and
Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes from that vintage were also sold to a local
Winery which received a Gold Medal for their Syrah, made from 100% of
Curry Vineyards Syrah grapes, at the California State Fair in
Sacramento. Be watching
for the soon release of their 2005 Syrah.
